Introduction – Hands-On Short Course in Geochemical Exploration
This course equips explorationists with the expertise needed to design geochemical surveys tailored to specific objectives—whether for research, reconnaissance, or detailed exploration. Participants will learn how to select appropriate sampling techniques and analytical methodologies, followed by comprehensive statistical analysis and final mapping of geochemical data.
Using real-world analytical datasets, we will demonstrate advanced techniques for data interpretation and utilization, ensuring more effective exploration outcomes.
Beyond covering proven interstitial soil gas and passive vapor sampling methods, this workshop will also address the common misuse of certain geochemical applications, discussing the skepticism surrounding their conclusions. Additionally, we will introduce the fundamentals of airborne and remote sensing technologies for detecting hydrogen macroseepage and microseepage.
Illustrated with case studies from international surveys, this hands-on training provides practical insights into cutting-edge geochemical exploration strategies.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for geoscientists involved in hydrogen exploration or research, as well as those seeking a comprehensive overview of highly effective but underutilized technologies in the field.
Where Is This Hands-On Short Course Held?
Our short-course, which includes both classroom instruction and fieldwork exercises, can be fully tailored to meet the client’s needs including location flexibility. It can take place at the client’s office and exploration site.
We typically offer this hands-on workshop at our training facilities in Paris, France, with the fieldwork sampling exercise conducted in a selected location within the Paris Basin—an area where we have previously carried out surface geochemical surveys.
Since the primary goal of the field exercise is to teach sampling techniques, it can be held in various countryside settings or at a client’s chosen exploration or research site. To arrange this, we will assess the cost of international travel for our instructor, along with the necessary logistics and the expected duration of the sampling exercise.
Optional Laboratory & In Situ Analysis
If the field exercise takes place over the client’s exploration area, the collected Interstitial Soil Gas Samples can be sent to our laboratory for analysis upon request. This service comes at an additional cost, which will depend on the number of samples processed.
Additionally, if the fieldwork is conducted on the client’s site, we can provide customized In Situ analysis, tailored to the specific exploration needs. This service also incurs an extra cost, determined by the number of measurements required.
